My favorite type of evening makeup look to do, is what I call Glitz and Glam. For this photoshoot of up and coming singer Jennifer Rhynes, I shot some portraits of her that could be used for a CD cover.
When I think of the great singers of all time, like my favorite, Billie Holiday, I tend to conjure the classic black and white images in my mind. So, I decided to do a makeup look, that could translate beautifully, in both black and white, and color photos.
The focus was on the eyes and lips, since they tell the story when you’re singing. I did a very natural, subtle foundation to enhance her beautiful skin tone, with a slight contour and some blush.
Next, I did a smokey eye with shadow, a cat eye with liquid liner, and some lash-lengthening mascara. I chose a deep red lipliner and lipstick, to give her that classic Old Hollywood Glamour that I think she represents beautifully.
I think her striking beauty and star quality really shines through in these shots. Here are just a few of my favorite pics from this shoot
